Currently furloughed as customer service
I was furloughed as customer service back in 2003.
I have regional and international captain time, flying corporate now.
Does being an employee get any priority for an interview?
Anyone else know of anyone in a similar situation?
Regards

Reach out to old supervisors and managers and ask for recommendations. Do not become discouraged by those who will give you the "negative Nancy" routine Good Luck

Only a few of the people I worked with are still doing customer service and other jobs. I was working at an outstation at the time.
I have filled in the addendums section and answered all of the questions regarding my employment.
Anyone know if there are interviews going on right now?

The first thing they said to me when I got into the interview was, "I see you were a former CSA for us. Welcome back." It counts.
If you can get anyone who you worked with at that time to write a quick note on your air apps recommendation link that you were a stand up guy, it will certainly only help.
I don't think they're interviewing at the moment. Everything seems to shut down in training and hiring over the summer. But in early fall everything ramps up again until late spring. OTOH, don't be discouraged if you don't hear anything right away. Or even for a very long time. I had my app in for three years before I got the call. I know others who have had theirs in even longer without a call. Fill out all the fields. Put something in every box you can. And update regularly. At least monthly. Nobody has the magic formula, but that seemed to work for me. And I haven't heard anyone say something to the contrary.

From yesterday's MEC update referencing MEC Chairman update at this weeks MEC meeting.
"Plans remain in place to hire 40 additional pilots through the end of the year, with 1200 pilots scheduled to be hired in 2018."
Best of luck!

No interviews at the moment. However, I've been told that people involved in the hiring process will be migrating to Denver within the next couple of weeks to start reviewing apps in order to prep for interviews this fall. If you haven't already, get the app tightened up, as the hiring machine will be spooling up in the near future.
Good luck!

Well it hasn't helped me. 15 year A&P, OAKUM, SFOMM. Went through the ESOP and lost it all. Laid off in 2005 went flying and reinvented myself. Spotless employee record. I was never even "counseled" about my sick leave usage. 4500TT, 1500 TPIC E175 Captain with several letters of recommendation including one from the recently retired 777 fleet Captain and nothing but crickets. United is the only major I am applying to. It's all kinda maddening if I do say. Good luck to you.
