They can also award more TDY slots than listed. So always bid if you want it. It's a great deal.

But be prepared for transport to fail every time. I went to SFO and stayed at the downtown Union Square Hilton. I took Uber more often than company provided transport because no one was there at pickup time. Hotel desk and/or the contracted service provider were reliable less than 50% of the time.

For someone who lives in domicile and is a line holder, it seems like TDY isn't that good of a deal. You get the ~$750 of pay (apparently even if you come home between trips), but that's about the only benefit I'm seeing.
