Default Boat as a west coast crash pad

I'm looking at commuting to SFO or LAX and using a boat as a crash pad. Has anyone done this and have thoughts they want to share? Recommended marinas, lessons learned, or pitfalls to watch out for?

Heard of a guy doing it in SFO as well as LAX. Was told SFO slip-fee included electricty.

(And that the boat was barely capable of crossing the Bay to park in said slip).

Lots of SFO guys berth at Coyote Point. It's just off to left on final when you make your "1000" call out.

Believe Coyote Point limits the amount of nights you can spend aboard the boat per month but if its a crash pad, that shouldn't come into play. Heard about another marina that's further South but on the same side of the bay as well.

Guys I know at Coyote point seem to like it and enjoy staying there.

I've been doing it for years in Brisbane marina, just north of the airport. Quieter and calmer than Coyote Point. Not considered liveaboard until exceeding 3 nights/week. Tons of airline people in Brisbane (seven on my dock alone). If you're planning on staying in SFO for the long haul, it's the best thing you'll ever do for yourself.

I know a few pilots who park a crashboat in Marina Del Rey for LAX and are pretty happy with it. I know lots of VA pilots who boatcrash at SFO. My suggestion would be go out there and ask around.

How much are slip fees at Coyote and Brisbane? And is there a waiting list?
