Allegiant? United has been snapping up AAY management lately. And our COO, who very much made the company what it is, mysteriously bailed on Friday. UAL has expressed a desire for used Airbi and lamented not being able to find enough on the used market at reasonable prices. Then there's the basic coach experiment you guys did. Maybe UAL plans to buy AAY out, eliminate a competetor, and grab some planes and pilots?

Did any of you really think Kirby was your friend and wanted the best for you? After a brief rest with Oscar, pre-Kirby, things are back to what they have been for the nearly 40 years I have been in this industry and airline.
It seems that only Delta has missed many of the downs (their BK was not the same) the rest have. Why is that? Market control in ATL and therefore they get slightly higher revenue per ASM. Its been the same story since before Kirby knew what an airline even was.

But......but......."airplanes have transcontinental range nowadays. Hubs in middle of the country aren't necessary anymore".
Would seem logical enough. But in this industry, what seems logical isn't always what happens.
^^^^THIS!!!!!

If Kirby really thinks he will get any scope relaxation, he is not nearly as smart as people are giving him credit.
Scope relaxation is a non-starter. Won't happen no matter what Embraer or Kirby wants.
More likely an opening salvo in contract negotiations to lower expectations. We get no scope relaxation, and feel better about a less lucrative contract.

Dave, given pilots history of giving up scope for $ I'm not sure he's bluffing.
