Kirby wants bigger RJ's.
I've said it before and I'm gonna keep saying it. Ual has more outsourced regional jets than delta. And delta has over one hundred more mainline aircraft than UAL.
Let that sink in.

This is a transcript with a reporter from the WSJ with SK.
WSJ: "What's a big issue you want to improve at United?"
SK: "We don't control our product. Our express carriers are not meeting the standards that mainline flights do. We are going to solve this problem by bringing more of that flying in house."
WSJ: "What about the newer regional jets on the market?"
SK: "We think they would be great. We need to fly them at the express carriers, because there is a cost advantage flying them there."
WSJ: "But what about brining the product in-house so you have better control over it?"
SK: "Well the bean-cou...um...accounting team has shown on paper that its more profitable to fly them there than with our pilots.
WSJ: "So what you're saying is that you want to have your cake and eat it to?"

All of us a AA were extremely happy to see Kirby go. He's the one who is the scope salesman and he's the one who negotiates pilot contracts. He is despised here at AA.

Yeah I do think the WSJ quote is a joke too, but this is legit and offers plenty of insight:

Integrity, Trust, and Cooperation. Apparently, those are just nice things to say when you're not trying to gut scope.

Note: Since Kirby's departure from AA, pilots and other employees have received, without negotiating, Profit Sharing (its bad but it's something), and pay raises to match UAL and DAL, and more constructive effort by upper management to listen. Not saying management is great here, far from and we have a long way to go, but since Scooter left, things have at least gone the right direction

We have more 777's than they have total wide bodies. If you want to lower the average pay per pilot, let's totally get a few hundred MD's and 717's and let JV foreign carriers handle all our widebody flying!

Check your numbers. You are totally wrong about your 777 numbers vs our total wide bodies.

Kirby wants bigger RJ's.
Or how about hold scope on both ends instead? I hope this is the beginning of insourcing industry wide!
