Kirby wants bigger RJ's.

"I will hope, over time, to convince all the pilots that more large regional jets is actually in all of our best interests," he told employees at a recent event in Cleveland in a video viewed by FlightGlobal.
"I will hope, over time, to remind management that achieving the benefit of more large regional jets is actually attainable under the current pilot contract"

Outsourcing has poor track record in United's history. He wants more big RJ's? We have pay rates for them in our UPA. Go ahead order as many as he wants. At express? NO.

I just read through the contract, and I don't see anywhere in there a limit on the size of jets we can fly at United. If he wants to buy those airplanes, we can fly them. I'm not seeing a limit for what United Pilots can fly. There are even payrates for them.
What am I missing?

And who is the company? Management? The board? The shareholders (Wall Street)? The employees? A combination?

WSJ: "What's a big issue you want to improve at United?"
SK: "We don't control our product. Our express carriers are not meeting the standards that mainline flights do. We are going to solve this problem by bringing more of that flying in house."
WSJ: "What about the newer regional jets on the market?"
SK: "We think they would be great. We need to fly them at the express carriers, because there is a cost advantage flying them there."
WSJ: "But what about brining the product in-house so you have better control over it?"
SK: "Well the bean-cou...um...accounting team has shown on paper that its more profitable to fly them there than with our pilots.
WSJ: "So what you're saying is that you want to have your cake and eat it to?"

Wait a minute.... I don't understand something.

If Kirby's position is to grow express flying so UAX an continue to completely Eff Up our product by abusing passengers then he needs to go back to American.

I'm all for larger RJ's! Keerbs is right about how they are useful! cant wait to see them.
..... here, flown by our seniority list. Any other option is a fat NO from me.
Either they are worth it at our pilot costs, or they are not worth it.
Hope some company peon is reading this!

Please stay strong on scope. No more concessions, please! The regional pilots don't want to see any more scope relief either. Not one more seat, not one more pound, not one more plane.
If a 77 seat or 86,001 pound airplane is helpful to the company's bottom line, then great, it should be flown by pilots on the mainline pilot seniority list. Or better yet, take ALL flying back in-house, and the product will be far superior.

NO scope give backs, if UAL can't survive without scope relief, I'm also OK with "full pay til the last day".

Same stunt he tried pulling at AA. He asked for "Only 5 more seats in scope". The entire pilot group went bat *guano* on him and he finally backed down.
Stay united, United.. Keep the 76 scope so the rest won't have to succumb to it.
