Jumpseat Seniority Question
What seniority is used in deciding who rides the jumpseat? Lets say you have 1990 pilot seniority but were hired in 1987 to work on the ramp. Do you have priority over somebody with 1989 PILOT seniority with a company seniority of 1987? Where can I find the written answer?

So everytime this happens it is expected that the Captain who is authorizing the use of his/her jumpseat, must log into Employee Res and input the information. That's a major pain. There has got to be an easier way

You hand the captain the JS access card... he compares it to the other JS cards (looking for UAL seniority if applicable)... and then he says either your GTG or SOL.

Not always true.. Emp Res sorts by company hire date not pilot seniority. For example, A Calex flow thru pilot might have an earlier hire date for pass travel vs sen list position and will not be reflected in correct seniority order in Emp Res.
The JS SHOULD be awarded in correct sen order now as the system has the current seniority list programed in. The sen numbers printed are always off for some reason, but the ordering is accurate.

I am posting this situation NOT for opinions but am soliciting for facts with written guidance - I may be faced with this dilemma one day.
