I did a delta job fair which got my app looked at and they sent me a "fix it" letter telling me where my app had errors. I fixed the gaps in work history from right after high school graduation. Pretty soon after that United called. So, I know Delta looks for small gaps in dates and was nice enough to tell me about them, I can only assume that United screens out the apps with gaps as well.

Next training class
When I interviewed in March the board near Doris's desk said expect June training. However when I received the CJO info a week later it said expect late summer or fall training. So I think the November date for the next class discussed here on the forum fits with the only official correspondence I have seen. It is just hard to wait while other airlines are hiring like crazy...but on the other hand I know my eventual training will not include the letters MD or the numbers 8 or 9...so there is some silver lining out there.

For many that's first choice. I've been flying the 737 since I got here and will retire on it. They've never furloughed a pilot. It's not a military-style commitment of 5 years. Leave anytime if the grass is greener elsewhere. Plenty of pilots have gone from one major to another for various reasons.
