I am l long time lurker here and post very little. I do this because my son has been 19 years at UAL. So I asked him about his experience with the FOs he's flow with. He doesn't talk much, but he said "they have all done well, even those right out of IOE. United is doing a good job of hiring and training these people."

I'd bet dollars to donuts that the CFI CPP guys 'n gals would be more receptive to some mentoring on scope, unlike the academy grads described in the recent thread on scope!

I’m not a Zoomie, but I’m curious on why a CPP would be more receptive?

A Zommie is a Communist zombie, but that’s not important now.

Not a chance of getting hired with 1500 hours and no turning time. The program provided a interview only.

A zoomie is an academy grad. You know because they tell you. Or they wear their class ring around and expect you to ask them.

Turning time = turbine time I assume? If so, that is not correct. A CPP new hire from Good Year, AZ Lufthansa school that I spoke with on his commute home has no turbine time. He was amazed with how big and fast the 320 was... couldn’t stop talking about the speed.

What do you bet that his Captain is single pilot when they go into ORD with thunderstorms and heavy volume. I'll even say his Captain is single pilot on certain routine events.
