I heard the program is indeed stopped.

I mean hiring pilots with no turbine time and have never been above 12,000 feet. What could possibly go wrong? Additional sims and 100 hours of OE

Talked to a narrow body LCA who said it hasn’t exactly gone swimmingly.

Yeah, that isn't totally true but it sounds good for those opposed to the program. So far the success rate has been the same as any other new-hire. The program was suspended for an entirely different reason that I can't share, but it is not related to how successful candidates were in training. Not defending nor critiquing the program, just sharing the facts as I know them.

Does Neil even fly? The last I saw he had about 22 million posts correcting any and all wrongs and squelching any dissent or anybody who had the great misfortune to have a differing opinion on the UAL forum. I don’t know where he finds time to fly.

That’s funny cuz when I fly the bus I can’t help but think what a little toy it is compared to most other airliners.

Hopefully it was suspended because it make UAL the laughing stock of the airline business. Let's see we can go out and hire qualified, educated, and seasoned/experienced pilots, or we can go out and hire...…(fill in the blank).

No brainer really. Since you can't talk about it, we can only speculate..... Likely some sort of major HR foul with a female college student. (hope not), but likely.

There's always more to training and personnel issues than simply learning SOP and flying the sim.
