CFI to UAL CPP
#11
What I mean is that these programs are used to make new pilots come to ****ty companies that they normally would not think about due to the false promise of a UAL job and rewards guys who would never get an interview if their life depended on it because they've been at [insert failing carrier] longest. I am all for seniority and no I do not want to be a chief pilot, but these policies only benefit UAL's bottom line, not regional pilots, not the instructors who work wherever this ATCA place is and definitely not the fresh FO's looking for their first job.
Go on the DAL forums and ask them about some of the Pinnacle fellas who got the NO INTERVIEW jobs handed to them.

The question is can a 1500hr CFI with no other background actually pass the United interview? Well see.....

And the 1500 hour pilot, well, many made it through the pre 9/11 panel of old which was way more technical/experienced based and not the TMAAT/targeted selection now. You can almost anybody through the scripted interview prep and get them through. There's been plenty of low time FO's that barely meet the mind hired. Way more I this hiring era than the 2007-2008 and pre 9/11 hiring.
Because as they say, "once you walk into the interview, experience doesn't matter any more.....".
Sadly, it's been proven over and over again.

^^^^ This! MoP, I have a few friends at said CPP carriers that are beyond horrified with some of the successful candidates that will be coming on property soon. Some of the stories of poor airmanship and no situational awareness is upsetting to alarming to say the least.

Some scary people interview quit well. Since you and I came from the same airline I'm sure we are equally shocked about some of the people who have been hired at UA, DL and AA.

If this is true then it lies squarely on the shoulders of our hiring board. The CPP isn't a flow so everyone we take is "vetted" by current United pilots.

Well, there is an HR rep in the interview as well. Sometimes a 20 something year old girl that came from Frontier, Skywest, etc....

Likely anyone that is "normal" can pass the interview. It's just an HR exercise.

With all the Hogan discussion here I went to a website last year just out of curiosity and paid $40 to take the test. If you've taken it and gotten the interview, congrats. For some employed here without having to have jumped through that hoop, they are probably thankful.
