the un-filled vacancy cancel after 90 days of bid effective date. As long we keep hiring they will have to create new vacancy for new hires. Also planned new hires through June was 300 (the number was 500, then down to 200, and most recent I believe is 300....but I could be wrong). So many of the un filled vacancy from the last bid should be filled by this bid effective date.

So yes you need a vacancy to place new hires, senior pilots get first crack at positions. What you're postulating would allow the company to place new hire "where needed." Say maybe DEN, or IAH 777 FO. Out of seniority order.
