We are still reducing over all the number of RJs.

It is the fact that we are on the verge of displacing over three hundred pilots off the 747. That is going to add a bunch of CAs to the system.

We haven't added a single RJ. Scope is still in effect, 50 seat reduction continues.

Expressjet is all but dead. They merely reshuffled the deck to Awac.

And the order was for 65. If you're going to be angry at least have the facts right.

Oh. Sorry. 61 not 71. That's still a lot of pilots not hired....are we still gonna "have fewer than 100- 50 seat aircraft by the end of 2019"??? I don't think so...not with this Air Willy deal and 700 deferral. Show me where we "reshuffled the deck", other than shuffling more RJs for deferred 700s. What a difference a year makes.....

CHICAGO, March 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- United Airlines today announced an order to purchase 25 new Boeing 737-700 aircraft. The order is in addition to the previously announced order of 40 737-700s. United will take delivery of the aircraft beginning at the end of 2017.
The new 737-700 aircraft will enable United to continue utilizing larger, more efficient aircraft as the airline reduces the size of its 50-seat regional fleet. United expects to have fewer than 100 aircraft in its 50-seat fleet by the end of 2019.

Thats nice to say...but where is the proof? Yes the 50 seaters are shrinking. But not near as fast now with an additional 65 RJs from Air Willy, which are a necessity since 61-700s that were ordered to replace the shrinking 50 seat RJ flying aren't coming. See my post above. Spin it how you want....enjoy the stagnation. 😉

I'm a little slow with emojis, but do you think I'm celebrating the the loss of the 37 order and the 50 seat junk jet staying?

True the 37's aren't coming, and the the 50 seat pos is staying. So my understanding is that things are the same as before the 65 jet order was placed. Scope remains the same we just don't get the mainline orders like we all wanted. If I am wrong on the issue I'm gladly admit it.

Trump starts a war with N Korea and we might just end up glad those 737's aren't here.

For those who may have missed it...

SEOUL, South Korea — Secretary of State Rex W. Tillerson ruled out on Friday opening any negotiation with North Korea to freeze its nuclear and missile programs and said for the first time that the Trump administration might be forced to take pre-emptive action “if they elevate the threat of their weapons program” to an unacceptable level.

Thats exactly how I see it. but that is not a reschuffle of RJs to another carrier. Its reshuffling from mainline replacement jets back to 50 seat RJs. All within scope but a big change of plans from just last year. And the big reason we aren't seeing any big vacancies and hiring.
