Default Double trip legality

Is it legal to schedule a line holder a 3 day trip that ends at 6:40am and start a 4 day trip at 22:10 later that evening?

If so is your min guantee still just 5hrs or is it 10hrs?

737 FO

Both trips were scheduled and not picked up.

Did you waive duty in consecutive WOCLs?

Is there 30 hours free from duty in there somewhere? Also, the 5 per day min is trip specific as opposed to calendar day.

The second trip (the 4 day) has a 34:30 layover on day one.

So the day that overlaps, should pay a minimum of 10hrs? Sounds too good to be true.

Thanks for the info!

Don't think that's a factor here since it's not more than six consecutive days of duty.

Need to waive this to get what you're wanting.

WAIVE Double Duty – By default PBS will not allow two trips to be assigned on the same day with a legal rest break at home base between them if the first trip ends with a flying segment operating between 0400-0700 HBT. This Waive command tells PBS to disregard this restriction, allowing for the possibility of being assigned two trips on the same day. An example would be concluding one trip at home base at 0500 and then starting another trip at 2000 the same day after a legal rest break. Other FAR and contractual rest provisions will still apply. Please note that the defaulted PBS double duty protection does not apply to two trips when the first trips ends with a leg outside of the timeframe mentioned above. For example if the first trip ends at 0030 HBT PBS will award, if legally possible, a subsequent trip on the same calendar day departing that evening.

Sorry, double checked, there were some waives in the bid groups.

It is too good to be true. We don't have the per-duty-period rig. Would be nice if those three day trips with four duty periods paid 20 hours, but they don't.

If it's a 3 day followed by a 4 day...this could be a factor depending on how early the 3 day reports in the beginning and how late the 4 day duties off on the backside. I realize it's a rolling 168 hour period and I don't think PBS would build something that is illegal in that situation.

I was just thinking out loud.
