"Or putting 500 hours C172 pilot on the right seat of RJs with newly upgraded CA with 1500 h. and let them go into central America at night in thunderstorms and no radar, is that safe?"

Well it's not Legal. You have to have a weather radar to be dispatched under those conditions. FWIW.

Sure, you can maybe just enjoy another bag of snack mix or stroopwaffle and if you ask the FA's real nicely they'll maybe get you an economy class blankie because you don't really deserve what was negotiated and agreed upon.

A deal is a deal. I watched my dh flight depart IAH for SAT because they didn't want to give me econ plus. Big delay the next morning out of SAT. oh well.

You want to talk about safety; how safe is it to have pilots on heavy for 20 years as RIO and do few landings in the sim every 3 months; is that safe? Or putting 500 hours C172 pilot on the right seat of RJs with newly upgraded CA with 1500 h. and let them go into central America at night in thunderstorms and no radar, is that safe? What about 3 or 4 pilots that weight over 300lbs and don't exercise with medical limitations and bag full of meds at the controls of B777 or B747 with 300 pax, is that safe?
There many factors that affect your life everyday, we mitigate many of them by technology and training; in case of pilots, technology has taken over and pilots no longer are able to do basic straight and level flight with out autopilot; new hires are afraid to make a short approach in VMC without ILS or guidance. You want safety; dig a whole or fined a cave and hide.
thanks for the laugh, cause that's all that was worth. No real intelligent conversation to be had here.

Making statements like that, will make public feel very sorry for poor pilots loosing US jobs to competition with NAI or Middle east.
Average american has lass then $300K in 401K.
People want cheap tickets and better service, we have neither. Perhaps that is why both parties in DC don't support ALPA and AOA efforts to reverse DOT approval for NAI.
Good idea, save, because what we have now, is not going to last long.
