Furthermore, the fact that our "union" has chosen to quell the voice of the membership on this proposed TA suggests there are political forces at work behind the scenes. Simply put, if Todd Insler is the next ALPA president, we need to seriously reconsider our association with ALPA. This smells of an effort to help Insler in his upcoming ALPA national election by preventing a very large and visible black mark on his record in the run up to that vote. Our union representatives have clearly lost touch with the rank and file membership, indicative of the overly familiar relationship Insler developed with senior United management. That must stop immediately by restarting Section 6 negotiations, but it must also mean Todd Insler is never again allowed to speak for United pilots as a union representative.

In addition to effective and transparent collective bargaining I think it would be a good idea to reconsider our relationship with ALPA.

It's obvious. They sold out all the good stuff in the contract for PAY because PAY is the easiest to compare and probably the only thing pro-ALPA nofly bros understand (see A380 rate that no flying ALPA bro (or sis) actually gets). It's hard to compare reserve rules but when you see $X vs. $Y then that right there is an INDUSTRY LEADING CONTRACT!!! F YEA SCRO, TI FOR ALPA BOD PRES!!! We gotta winner in national!!! Woohoo.

Yes, he gets way more than that. According to their 2019 filing, ALPA reported his W-2 compensation as $1,241,160 plus an additional $53k.

All you have to do is ask the question of the VP of Finance and you’ll learn from the source who is responsible for our dues money that the ALPA President’s pay is based solely on aircraft actually on property at ALPA carriers. No ALPA carrier has the A380 so it does not factor into the president’s pay.

That is not what the ALPA President makes. That’s the accounting for the ALPA President’s office budget. Again it’s easy to get the information when you ask.

$571,014 salary according to that. That's $500/hr at 95 hours per month.
This doesn't seem right so now I'm going to ask the most reliable source in the world. EWRflyr, how much does the ALPA president make?
