Be safe out there!
you know, i think you're right. I need to read my ops manual before every push to make sure we're doing it in compliance with the fom/wom. It may take a bit to get the flight deck properly organized and to ensure we're fully in compliance with all our rules and procedures.
we should all be fully compliant with all rules and company procedures at all times.

Like many have already said in reply to you and like I said in my post, "Since UA is the first major pilot group to be put to the test in this round of negotiations, your pilot group will set the bar for our entire profession." That's why I have such a "hard on" (your words) for what's going on with United's TA. If each airline's pilot group existed in a vacuum and United's pilot group had ratified the garbage TA they had before them, I could care less. But unfortunately for us this round of negotiations, our contracts are created in a pattern bargaining environment. If United's pilot group ratifies anything remotely close to this TA, it lowers the bar for every airline pilot in the US and Canada.

You know, I actually think with some serious work this thing could be polished up and be good. But this negotiating committee has lied directly to our faces multiple times in town halls and FAQs and I don’t trust them for anything, especially to negotiate for me.

So does anyone know how realistic it is that we recall these unbelievably negligent (leaning more towards corrupt) “representatives” of ours before they screw us over with another “industry leading” deal? I have my doubts that we can clean house quick enough.

I hear you and agree for the most part. Delta and American definitely have a vested interest in the outcome of this agreement. I still feel a bit burned by all the “warrior spirit” a decade plus ago as SWA pilots openly plotted the demise of UAL/US Air/ American and Delta. It was sick. I just had a Delta friend call me (two days ago) and he mentioned how bizarre it was to see so many SWA guys/gals being so aggressive about this TA. Just seems strange to me but your points are valid

I can empathize with you on this. And I assume you're talking about SWA pilots like this guy, speaking about the beat down the piloting profession took during the 2000's, quoted in a NY Times article from 2006: "'It's hard for me to feel sorry for them,' said So-and-so . . . [a Southwest union official], who have always flown longer hours than pilots at older airlines. 'They're a bunch of spoiled brats,' he said. 'Historically, this has been a really cushy job once you get to the majors. You make a lot of money and you don't have to fly a lot. But there had to be a market balancing at some point.'" We have a heritage of guys like that. That's embarrassing. Hopefully, we've turned the corner and the new guys in place are on an entirely different level. Hopefully, guys like that guy are either waking up or retiring out. We will see. But ya, it's frustrating to me that one of our guys had the nerve to say something like that. And I know he wasn't alone in how he felt. It would likely be even more frustrating to me had I been in your shoes at the time.

The thing is, it’s not like they (MEC, NC) were a little high on the glideslope, called for a go around, and want us to relax and trust them to get us on the ground safely. It’s more
like they were drunk and doing lines off an FAs ___ while busting through mins, but now they realize they were wrong, sobered up, and we should relax and trust them this time. Egregious.
