What ALPA National committee chairman position do you think Mike Hamilton or any other UAL MEC Chairman is aiming for? Chairman of Aeromedical? Chairman of the Membership Committee? Chairman of the Jumpseat Committee? There are plenty of United pilot volunteers on ALPA National committees according to articles in the Air Line Pilot magazine. I would think having UNITED pilots working on these committees is a great thing.

Everyone who doesn't view this current process in the same light is management? God forbid I can have a different and more rational (IMO) view than you while still having the same end opinion. That's the theme of most of these threads about the TA: anyone who has a more measured approach vs. scorched earth is the enemy and not your fellow 23+ year dues-paying line pilot. Just like our politics these days where anyone even expressing a middle ground is demonized.
Oh, and I have plenty of hair, too.

Sounds like ORD and DCA voted for sacking the Negotiating Committee but the others disagreed. So much for Glenn being a renegade.
If those in the other councils are fed up I’d suggest you make your voices heard. The company wants to tweak this or that just enough to move this abomination over the goal line.
Suckers, all of us if we allow this to happen.

"Glenn spoke against but was clear as to why. Said he's not always happy with the work product of the negotiators. They get it right sometimes and wrong other times. Said something about if anyone should have his name on a recall resolution it's him as he's about the only one around the table the last 10 years of this contract who has a running list of problems needing fixed and this doesn't address all that. Called out the reps leading the recall charge as political and self-serving. Asked why they didn't express their dissatisfaction with any of the elements of the TA during all the prior negotiations briefings along the way since they were part of giving direction to the negotiators too. Why only speaking now? They brought a product based on our direction and you voted no for it as did he but now they are drumming up recall talk. You don't send your people into battle to fight then at the end put them on a wall say thank you and shoot them in the face. I won't do that. So stop the games and politics."

Got some flavor of what went down from someone in the room during the debate to recall the NC:

That type discussion is held in the very highest level of closed environments. I’m suspecting that whom ever told you this has an agenda.
This is incompetence and dirty politics at a very disgusting level. My advice is to take this down. You, or the person whom asked you to leak this, could find yourself in a very bad place for rehashing a confidential and closed session discussion on this board. Don’t know who told you that this was a good idea. Good luck with it. And no, I won’t be responding, or posting on this one…
We are truly in Bizarro MEC land at this time. I’ve never had less confidence

All big companies have professionals (in house or contract) who monitor social media. I'm sure a specialist, if tasked, could conclude this thing would fail just by observing the chatter on the interwebs.
Or they've been pulling and listening to all the CVR's for the last month lol

Well, Whack's a tranny so there's that.

How rich coming from the man who has done nothing but sow disunity with your alter-ego union attempts. Recall everyone so your friend Barton can get elected? Or will you come in to try to accomplish what you couldn't four years ago after having to suspend your campaign under questionable circumstances?

More than recalls. The current MEC, LEC, and NC need to be shunned by all for the remainder of their careers. No pollite conversation, dinner, etc. Checklist only. No jumpseats, etc. Treat them like other union pariahs are treated. The punishment needs to be so severe no other rep will ever repeat this.
