Through the grapevine ……. the company is prepared to offer commuter hotels with the PBS agreement. Take it for what it's worth.

They must be desperate for Pbs then.

Also through the grapevine, but min day and other scheduling rule changes. It would be much to their benefit on getting this passed if they enlightened the rest of the group on what they are already offering the Union for PBS.

Why on earth would we leave things like min day and commuter hotels on the table now and wait for PBS? Negotiate for them now and sweeten this agreement and look for further gains when the company really starts pushing PBS.

If we got min day and commuter hotels now, what could the company add for PBS that would "sweeten" the deal enough to sell it to pilots that already say "I wouldn't vote for PBS if it was Delta rates."

Asking nicely isn't going to get us to vote in PBS. This is how negotiating works. We don't hold a gun to the company's head.

I'm not saying hold a gun to their head and demand Delta plus so much. I'm saying there are realistic and tangible gains that can be realized now rather than left on the table for PBS. The company wants PBS, it's a huge plus for them so let's take advantage of that and negotiate appreciable gains now, then see what they offer for PBS.

I'm very aware of how negotiations work. I'm also aware that this is a golden opportunity for our pilot group.

I would've liked min day and schedule protections in the extension. However, my question remains. If we got that in the extension, what would they have to offer IN ADDITION to get you to vote for PBS. Keeping in mind we've already voted it down once.

That would be up to the company. Additional quality of life improvements for the pilot group. Close some of the lopholes that are commonly exploited. It could be any number of additional improvements but the burden would be in them to make it worth our while.

A lot of people are pushing for a 4 hour min day in exchange for PBS. I think we should be pushing for 5 hours and accept no less than 4.5. Why would line holders accept the same as reserves? Besides, at 4 hours the company wouldn't have to change utilization much if at all. Most trips have close to 4/hours per day and this wouldn't translate to much money.

If the company aims to have us working 4 hours per day 80/4= 20 days of work and they could keep pumping out $**t schedules with min days off. Now if it was 5, and the company tried to build pairings to meet min of 5 hours per day, 80/5= 16 days, giving line holders 14-15 days off minimum.

4 hours min pay should have been in the extension. 4:45 to 5:00 should be offered with PBS to make up for lack of flexibility to drop and swap with open time. Along with upping the cola pay increases from 1.5% to 2.5% to make up for pay lost for lack of 150-200% open time to pick up.
