I heard the bonus for new hires will end. Increasing the pay contractually is way better than. a signing bonus. Alpa already grieved the bonus payment.

I'm sure they would love to end it, but in the end our first year pay will be on par with everyone else and they will still have to pay some kind of bonus. Unfortunately the grieving of bonuses for new hires hasn't really gone anywhere, but hopefully it will.

Then the company can come back to us and ask us to raise it more through an LOA. And we can ask for something for the rest of us. The one major reason they haven't just raised it already is because we were opening negotiations

Initial impression overall its an improvement but nothing to whoop and holler about, but the bonus is really, really inadequate and poorly worded. In one area it talks about a "retention" bonus and in another area it reads "signing bonus." The way I read it is a signing bonus, and not any kind of retention bonus.
