Dude all you been doing is giving the doom and gloom about it. You STILL have yet to tell me how QOL will take a hit solely due to PBS. It can't. That is 100% fact.
I don't have a hard on for it, you moron. But be sure to tell your MEC Chairman that he does because all I did was repeat what he stated in the email to the pilot group. "The company has already paid a considerable amount of money to NavTech for a PBS system that is tailored to the TSA CBA." Again, stating FACT that this company would not aimlessly throw money at something for a year unless they had every intention of making sure it is utilized.
Since you've apparently been here so much longer than me, you should know that no dollar goes unaccounted for at TSA. With that being said, I've used PBS before and have experience with the good and bad. I don't have a raging yogurt slinger over it, but I could hold a better schedule every month over line bidding as a mid-level guy. If you don't know what you're doing (judging by your bias against it...), it can bite you.

In July and August of 2005, I had a week of vacation in July and a week in August. These were not consecutive weeks. I traded for the week available in August to accomplish what I wanted which was maximizing time off. I turned 14 days of non-consecutive vacation weeks into 26 straight days off.
In July, I bid for as much time off before and following vacation as I could get. PBS gave me two days off before and three days off following vacation. That took me through the end July.
I needed the first two days of August off and bid for as many days off following the August vacation as I could get. I got five days off there. Thus far, PBS did what I wanted it to do and I enjoyed 26 straight days off.
This is where PBS bites people. In July, prior to my time off and in August, following my time off, I flew as much as I legally could. I finished July with 105 hours for pay and 88 hours for pay in August. Trip rigs and vacation pay had something to do with that. BUT, I was exhausted and needed another vacation to recover from those two months.
When the bidding program looks at the priorities you set, it relaxes the priorities elsewhere in your bid. If one bids max time off as their first bid, the subsequent bid requesting certain trips on certain days is automatically deemed not as important. Another drawback is the number of characters one is allowed to enter into their bid. Characters include spaces, dashes, commas and other various items. This limits the priorities you may want to set in any given month.
The only individuals who won’t see a change are the #1 CA, #1 F/O and #1 F/A in their respective bases. If the #2 in those positions have a bid in which matches the person senior to them, the #2 is SOL and subject to whatever solution PBS imposes upon them. With hard lines, there may be more than one schedule which suits the needs of #2.
This is how PBS can be beneficial to QOL and also how PBS can screw up QOL for crew members.
Good luck!

Wasn't the MRJ suppose to have its first flight this summer? That's drastically coming to an end and still no flight.

Initial impression overall its an improvement but nothing to whoop and holler about, but the bonus is really, really inadequate and poorly worded. In one area it talks about a "retention" bonus and in another area it reads "signing bonus." The way I read it is a signing bonus, and not any kind of retention bonus.
Was hoping the decision was going to be easy, but the signing bonus and the fact that we don't know what we are getting for PBS is really giving me something to think about....going to have to look at it some more before making up my mind.
