A little off topic here... But is everyone getting assigned STL for sims or is it a combination of STL and HOU?

I'm in a June class. For the June 1st class, it was divided half and half for STL/Houston. For the class June 15th or whatever it was most to Houston and I think one person staying in STL. The most recent July class hasn't been assigned classes as of this morning when I talked to one of them in the hallway.

4 TDY lines to STL and 5 TDY to ORD from IAD for Aug. Upgrades came to a slowdown....i think only 5 this month after 10-14 a month for the past 4 months….stopped with 2 eligible FOs left then first group of CQFOs. Probably because they did not hire enough in July...that or we are about to find out how screwed all the CQFOs are…They were crying a few months ago they wouldn't have anyone in DEN and it would be junior, that hasn't been the case at all. People have been waiting months to hold DEN...STL growing the fastest and everyone is getting assigned it out of training…If you want IAD you can probably get it but with the quick American growth in STL they need everyone there…RDU is still in the works, if it happens you can probably see ORD go away and all the flying covered by DEN and IAD…should be interesting to see what happens next few months...good luck to all who want to come here bring your friends they are giving out big bonuses for people to bring in new recruits….

If I had to guess on the upgrade slow down it would be because the current wait for OE is 4-5 weeks for Captains. That's two months of lost productivity for the company. Better to have them fly 80 hours than sit at home. There are 9 LCA awaiting certification but our POI is a no-talent a-clown who is more concerned about who is doing CBTs on overnights than doing his real job.

Why would ORD shutdown, seems we have a good number for what is needed there. United hated us not having a base there, even when we were doing less flying. Constantly deadheading and canceling flights out of there because we didn't have crews available. Although, not any different then now.

Big difference is following the UA up-gauging in ORD. The B20-22 gates, once 145 gates now park A320s. They want less 50 seaters there thus why we significantly reduced flying there. I wouldn't be surprised if it closed.

Absolutely perfect. That guy is a piece of work. He fears change, and seems hell bent on hindering the growth as much as possible.

I'll be real interested to see if they actually upgrade the CQFOs or what they are going to do. If they are taking upgrade slots and therefore the actual class of FO's will be even smaller. I was told 10 upgrades for Aug and of course there was only 5-6. By seniority of course they would upgrade but its almost like they don't know what they are going to do and no-one has any answers.
