Thanks!
135 turbojet PIC counts toward the FAA regs which satisfies TSA upgrade requirement. So 2500TT and meet the regs and you're good.

You sound bitter... you don't happen to be the GotJetzz pilot that "normally works the LGA to Paris route" that she rejected at the LGA hotel ??

So if someone met all requirements for upgrade, before coming on board with TSA, how long currently would the upgrade time-frame be for a new hire FO?

There's about 100 people with a bid in for captain, and we are upgrading about 12 per month. Of course some FOs will hit upgrade mins in the meantime. Also some CQFOs have already been snatched up by legacies and majors before they have even been able to upgrade, in addition to the normal attrition of captains. So there's lots of factors to consider. With that being said I would speculate upgrade time to be 8 months to a year.

As far as DEN, it has been slow to ramp up, so its pretty senior right now. But I heard that the next 10 united planes we get are going there, so the base should grow quickly. For July they are transferring about 12 captains and 12 FOs/CQFOs to DEN. So if things keep up at that pace, it will eat through the people already on seniority list fast. To play it safe, I would plan on commuting to IAD or STL for a couple months, but depending on your timing with getting hired and training you may be pleasantly surprised with getting DEN even sooner than that.

Speaking only on the FO side, 13 CQFO/FO were transferred to Denver for July the most recent hired to be awarded it was in the 12/16 class. I was in the 2/2/15 class. I was given STL immediately following IOE and am currently 13 from getting Denver FO awarded. Ive been on the line since May 15th, so I am hoping to get Denver for August (maybe September). So if you just getting ready to get started I would say you are looking at 2 months to get Denver.

Do Trans States pilots need to wear the hat in the summer or only when the jacket is worn?

Always. Even in the bar on the overnight. And on your off days at the grocery store.
