I have a few questions that I would like some answers on from pilots currently at TSA.
1. Is it confirmed that the CQFO program is no longer active for new hires?
2. Does TSA still accept part 135 TPIC time for the upgrade requirements?
3. For a new hire FO, is DEN an easily attainable base out of training? FO reserve time at DEN would be? Same two questions but as junior CA?
Thanks!

Oh stop. You and I both know about the effect of recency and memory. The ones who aren't studying on their own prior to their upgrade are failing. You and I both know how much studying happens while flying the line. You essentially were flying the line using similar airplanes (often times the same), similar regulations (sometimes the same), and received a 5 week differences course.
No, no axe to grind with TSA at all. I'm happy I came here. What I do have an axe to grind about is Mav insinuating that a CQFO is somehow a sub-par pilot or doesn't know what he/she is doing, when in reality a lot of them have been on the 145 or flying 121 (or both) for a much more significant amount of time than a lot of the true upgrade guys. I believe this is reflected with the amount of true upgrade guys failing who have been here a little while, vs. the amount of CQFO's that didn't make it through training (I haven't heard of any).

I completely agree. Can you please tell that to Mav because he seems to think that CQFO's just got their private license yesterday. There were CQFO's that came here, off the street as new hires from places like Great Lakes or Silver, and had literally never flown a jet before, and they made it through upgrade.

Now, I, as well as Breezy, did find it a tad bit comical that it just so happens to be a CQFO that flew through this "phantom" hail storm. Based on the arrogance level of some of you guys you would have never thought it were possible.
Before you roll on me for hating the CQFO's.. I don't. I'm glad we provided a great opportunity for you guys here, but some of you made absolute D Bags of yourselves right out of the gate. For that, I have no sympathy, and do find it a bit funny when you guys step on yourselves.
Annnnd it's fun to get you all riled up. It's just so easy. You must wear your hat still?

Correct.

I could be wrong, but I know we only require 2500 TT to upgrade. The FAR's also require 1000 121 SIC or 135 PIC which can be counted towards that requirement. For example 500 hours 135 PIC + 500 121 SIC = 1000 Total.
3. For a new hire FO, is DEN an easily attainable base out of training? FO reserve time at DEN would be? Same two questions but as junior CA?
As of the standing bids that came out today, October 2014 hires and junior will hold Denver in July. That being said the base, on the FO side, will only have about 20 - 25 FO's maybe? So, doing the math, a new hire won't have much of a problem holding straight out of training in the future. The base should be close to 100 crews by September - October from what I've heard around the company. At the rate we are upgrading our own, movement will be fast and you should have no problem holding it.
Thanks!

On a totally different note. Has anyone heard anything about ADI? Just saw on their forum ( from a month ago) that they laid off half their pilots and haven't been paying anyone?
Sounds like a smooth move for the guy that was chucking grenades as he was going out the door here. I feel bad for the people, FO's especially, that he took with him if it's true.
To Meyers, can we make up already? I was just tugging your nuts. I like you guys, but like the Comair guys you guys were a little out spoken when you showed up and rubbed some the wrong way. Can we leave it at that and move on?
So the next time you see Wally/Willy or whoever I am on your schedule, I'll buy you a beer on the overnight.

Yesterday I saw a passenger at LGA hit one of your FOs in the face with a carry on, almost knocked her over **********
