It's also been said before that time ( amount of time ) and decision making don't often go hand in hand. Case in point.
I really hope you are joking because otherwise you don't understand how the radar works.

Ole Wally doesn't know much of anything from what I understand.

So you think he knowingly flew through hail? Highly doubt that.

*cells that contain hail. Better? Should have proof read, and yes I realize the radar doesn't paint all forms of hail. However, it doesn't take a masters degree to figure out where it's at when you are looking at storms like there were the other day.

Willy? So far, nearly all that I've said over the past 5 months has been spot on accurate. Everything from hiring, to the CQFO pay problem.

If yall want to dive into a typo then have at it.

First off its not frequent that you encounter hail in Chicago. That being said, when you are few thousand feet below a cell, where previous aircraft on the arrival were on, hail does catch you by surprise. That's how I've always encountered it. I report it and ATC begins relaying the info to other pilots. I highly doubt that any info was relayed to the crew because we all would deviate and avoid. But it seems like Mav likes to fill in the blanks to a story he doesn't know and the circumstances the crew was in.

So to clarify, does it paint hail? No...should you be able to see where it is, or have a good idea where it's at by looking at your radar? Yes.
lots of masters degrees in meteorology and they still Dick it up pretty good.

It was short final Not near any cells for about 2 seconds. 2 envoys and a united 757 also hit it. Next time you're in open time remember its not that the person was sick, it was because he hated you that much.

So you're saying that when they are 50 miles out and in that they didn't see a massive sized cell on that screen? I could be wrong, but I've never had a hail storm just sneak up on me.

Those that have and those that will I guess. Nice to see we can still get the CQFO's all fired up. It was getting boring around here anyways.
