We can kiss our chances of upgrade in the next 10 years goodbye if that happens. And that's pretty generous of you, giving GoJet half their longevity. How about stapled to the bottom?

If RVL is putting in for overnight on FLICA for daily open time, it's first come first serve regardless of seniority...maybe why you're not getting overnights.

Yeah I saw that little note up there but I absolutely KNOW that's BS.

Last month I put in my open time requests within 5 minutes of them being posted (I had absolutely nothing better to do) and how many do you think I got?

Big. Fat. Cero.

But just think of the possibilities - you could be a DTW Captain (reserve) in 17 years, or a CVG Captain (reserve) in about 24! The SLI with Comair would open up many wonderful options.

***disclaimer*** you need to contact the union and get the official word..but its my understanding that open time is handed out like this.

1. The most SR RVL gets a trip...if there is more than one trip in open time then he can put in a flica request for a specific trip
2. The rest of the trips will be given to RVL guys in seniority order
3. After all RVL guys get trips then RES guys get trips in reverse seniority order.

Lets say there are 4 trips in open time and 3 RVLS on that day.
Lets also say you are the most JR RVL guy but trip 4567 looks awesome so you want it. You know you WILL get a trip because there are 4 trips and you are the number 3 RVL. You put in a flica request for trip 4567 and as long as RVL guy 1 or 2 doesn't put in a flica request for 4567 you get 4567 and they get a different trip. The 4th trip will go to the most JR RES.

Lets say there is pairing 1234 and is the ONLY open time for that day and 3 guys are on reserve that day.
Guy 1 is RVL and didn't put in a flica request for paring 1234
Guy 2 is RVL and did put in flica request for 1234
Guy 3 is straight up RES.

Guy 1 would get the trip. Even though he didn't have a flica request for pairing 1234 Guy 1 is still the most SR RVL guy so he gets the trip even though he didn't put in a flica request for it.

Anyways like I said call the union to get the official word..but above is an idea of how it should work. If its not going like the union says it should then start making them follow the CBA. We fought waaaaaay too long to let them just violate it.

I think it should be the way you said grt cornholio! Although i was told by a union rep that daily open time has nothing to do with senority! Its first come, first serve! So why do we have seniority? It was like this in the old contract and is probably still like this in the new one! And I am sure scheduling probably just does whatever any way!!

daily open time is first come first serve for line holders. For reserve guys it should go like I said in the other post. The post above was info gathered from both crew scheduling and the union. I just just added the disclaimer incase something got jumbled in my head.

Wrong. Wrong. and Wrong. I was at the SOC and saw scheduling giving out flying to reserve pilots.
