It's not that bad at all. Because we actually use the DCs, its quieter than any other cockpit I've been in. Were not shouting like they are in mainline cockpits with all the wind noise. Granted they don't wear headsets. The current DC headsets do a very good job as far as noise, it's just that they clamp on you hard and after about a 2 hour leg it does start to get uncomfortable.

From the list of approved headsets, does anyone have input on which ones are a comfortable pair for what we fly? I have DC's as well, and they're not too comforlable after a while. Looking to get something more comfy and not too expensive.

I've flown with a Bose X for years/several thousand hours and have no complaints. They can be pricey but call and ask them about payment options. I was able to break it up into payments over the course of a year.

Yea it was that 1000 dollar price tag that made me cringe, but payments over a year would be doable I suppose. Anything Bose is quality.

I got a kick out of the first paragraph of the fcom bulletin. I've never seen anything like that in an faa approved bulletin. Atleast we know that if one person isn't found in compliance with the headset usage policy, instead of dealing with that person individually, we will have a grade school style loss of "privileges" for all.

ATTENTION! A public service announcement:
Do not go on a payment plan for a brand new bose X, it is wayyyyy wayyyyy wayyyyyy did I mention wayyyyy overpriced. Buy it Used!!!! It is the best headset but there is absolutely no difference between a 1000 dollar new one and a used 500 dollar one from eBay. I just saved you 500 dollars. It's not worth 1000, don't be dumb and spend that money when the closest competitor is 500 dollars less new.

Are the David Clark DC-Pros on the approved list? Heard nothing but great things about them, and about half the cost of Bose
