If you as the FO find something on a post-flight and captain already has gone in the terminal to get paperwork/food/etc. Would you sit there and wait for him to come back and tell him? Possibly wasting 20 min that mx could have been there fixing the problem.

If he was going to sell the guy out, he'd have not blanked out the employee #... You gotta have a sense of humor at this job, otherwise you'll end up going nuts.
