Default QOL questions

I'm thinking about applying to Trans States. I have a few general QOL questions. I live a 2 hour drive from ORD, a 3 hour drive from STL, so not quite "in base" but close enough to make life easier.

How does scheduling work? Hard lines, PBS, etc? Can you drop trips into open time? Do you get paid extra for picking up a trip on a day off? Cancellation pay? How long is reserve? What's the average trip length?

Thanks in advance.

Bidding hard lines for now and mock bidding Navtech PBS. May have a live bid in June and could be implemented as early as July after the pilots vote on it.

Can you drop trips into open time?
Yes as long as there is enough reserve coverage with the exception of Holidays and transition.

Do you get paid extra for picking up a trip on a day off?
Non pilot driven pickups paid at 150%. Pilot driven (i.e. drops) straight pay.
Cancellation pay?
100 percent leg by leg and its nice. I average 115 hours a month credit largely due to cancellation pay. Had 130 hours last month.

How long is reserve?
Hard to say as we are taking on so many planes right now it will change. Safe to say it won't be long.

What's the average trip length?
4 days

Thanks in advance.
You're welcome

FlyingKat, I'm just curious how you credit 130 hours? You said you average 115 a month. Are you bidding on 90 hour lines and just picking up a ton of open time with minimum days off? Or just raking up airport reserve hours picking up flying also? I believe you, but these are insanely high credit hours you're averaging.

Bid lines with low block and high credit.
All pickups 150%
Use Cancellation pay to reduce block and pick up more trips.
Pick up to the max with few days off

So, I'm assuming you've been getting dropped for OE a lot and then pick up a trip in open time to cover that trip? 150% trip (open time) plus the trip you were cancelled for? And how many days off are you averaging with these 115 hour credit months? I ask because I need to have a couple of these months...saving for a house. The most I've ever credited was 96 hours...with cancellation pay and flying a lot.

There will be no vote. PBS is happening. If you can show me in the contract where it says the pilots will vote on it, I'll eat my words, but it's not in there. 95% of the company is under the impression that there will be a company-wide vote, but I'm not exactly sure where that came from because it doesn't say it anywhere.
