We were told that money was the primary driver. Saved the company $700k/year to go with Lidos.

Two weeks ago when we were handed our jepps, they told us not to get too used to them, LIDOS are coming soon because switching from jeppessen to lidos was going to save holdings $800k/year.

It may be part of a packaged deal, but the packaged deal was definitely chosen to save money, not because they think zee Germans are cool.

The figure you quote is for the entire system. The LIDOS are a small part of that. My point was that moving to LIDOS in and of itself was not a cost saving measure. Moving to the Lufthansa systems is the cost saving measure and the LIDOS are a small part of that system. The major savings are going to come in the crew scheduling, dispatch and payroll systems which are light years ahead of sabre and will save the company major man hours on the support side and will be much more efficient.

Don't feel bad. We did lido chart training without the ipads in December. And now it's March and we haven't seen the ipad or lido charts.
