Profile: T/O, climb to 4000, Rt 90, Lft 90, descend 3000, brf hold on random radial, don't fly hold, slew to outside the marker, dirty up, fly ILS to touch down. You will fly from left seat w/ experienced FO in rt seat, he will help w/ pwr settings. You are not expected to brf anything, just fly the sim. Couldn't be easier unless they flew it for you.

It's more of a chat with the chief pilot recruiter (#20-something in the company). They lay out the ops, growth plan, etc. You get to ask 20 questions (they don't ask many). Then a 50 (maybe 100?) question test on FAR/AIM stuff (no time limit) - not hard, review your AIM and you'll rock it.
They need pilots. If you're not a total tool, have the quals and don't crash the sim, you'll be hired.

I just finished my captain IOE, so there are about 8 of us from the Dec. 3rd class that are done (2 FO's and 6 CQFO's) A few have flown as CA, only 1 as FO, most have sat reserve for a bit...i start reserve sometime this week probably.

I think they literally have nothing but their situational awareness to help decide what to do. There's no magical computer that helps them calculate the complex formulas of not screwing with people. That's the only explanation for them taking hours to put two and two together and totally messing up operations. Maybe this new Lufthansa system will have an easy button for them.

COO came in to talk to our class last week. He said he staffs at 5 crews per aircraft. April 2016 we will have 81 aircraft on property. Current pilot group is 470ish. We have an attrition of roughly 5 per month.
Quick Math shows that almost everyone on property today should be a true captain by next April. Anyone hired into new classes should be banking on attrition to upgrade, but it should come quick.
