Ya I would say 6 months to a year is highly conservative. Maybe for a few of the guys in training right now that may be true, solely due to the fact that the airplanes really don't start pouring in until the spring time. That being said, once DEN is opened that base should grow at a pretty good clip.
Looking at the standing bids now, Denver will definitely be junior. Especially since they are planning on basing 15 + airplanes out there. I believe the actual number was 18, which would mean we need somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 crews out there.
I thought I saw you were planning on coming in March? If that's the case, you will still be in a great spot, and like was mentioned above you may not even see reserve…or very very limited reserve. Especially if you are based in DEN/IAD as they will be seeing massive growth on the United side. STL, and whatever other base they decide for the AAG flying will also be good.
Long story short, pretty much every base will be "junior" on the FO side with the exception of maybe ORD.

Gotcha, yeaa that sounds more like what I was thinking would be the case... Either way seems like I got lucky with the timing.. Just excited to be a part of it.
Only other big question I had was about training.. is it really $1200/ month or so? any per diem during training..? also heard rumors about some kind of stipend or something...
Anyways, thanks for the info.. really appreciate it!!

standard would be min pay at 75 hr credit / month..not 60
per diem is offered only at a a few
(this has been a huge killer for anyone jumping to TSA with seniority...this is the single biggest killer of recruitment)

I've had several friends interested but they can't justify 3-4 months on training pay. Those who have made the jump aren't happy about it but feel the long term benefit will outweigh the short(er) term pain.

Is DEN still considered a junior base? I apologize if I missed the memo in past pages. Have been out of the loop for awhile. Thank you in advance
