Anyhow I would love to get onboard the CQFO program. But, I'm sitting at 2900 hrs total with about 800 hrs 121 SIC. I Have the PIC Type in the 145. If I make the jump to TSA any input on the outlook for a somewhat experienced FO? Would it still be possible to obtain an upgrade in a yearish?
Also does anybody have any gouge on the Denver base, and how junior/senior it will be going?
I'm ready to off reserve, credit more than guarentee, and obtain the neccassary experience to forward my career.
I'll actually answer this considering all that's going on over here is a ton of bickering and agenda pushing. I'm not on here to recruit, I'm not going to sell anyone a bill of goods, nor is Trans States in general. To the few people that actually know who I am, I've never done anything but give straight information, when asked, on these forums or to my own friends that have decided to make the leap.

As I'm sure you know, you don't qualify for the CQFO program. If you can take the hit to go back to first year FO pay, I firmly believe, you won't regret it. I can also say with a pretty high amount of certainty that you will most definitely see an upgrade within 12 months. I'd be surprised if you don't upgrade in 6-8 months with your time. A lot of these high time guys will really start upgrading this summer/fall when the deliveries are in full swing, and we've upgraded nearly all of our qualified FO's. I haven't seen the latest standing bids, but when we run a few more classes of 8-10 upgrades a month, we will nearly exhaust all of the currently qualified FO's that we have. Hence, the need for the CQFO's aka STREET CAPTAIN. Once we've exhausted our current batch of FO's, we will see a trickle of our own start to get the time, but it won't be nearly enough to fill upgrade classes. So, to answer your question, yes you should easily upgrade in 12 months, and like I said I'd be surprised if it wasn't considerably sooner.

As for taking the cut to go back to first year pay… My guess is guys that are starting to hit the line in April, May, June, etc will likely see very little to no reserve, and they will have the opportunity to fly, and credit, as much as 117 will allow. I got on at the tail end of the 7 airplane growth, and I never sat reserve and have easily credited 100/month for over a year. I budgeted for first year pay, and I had no problems paying my student loans and also living on first year pay. GASP! NO WAY!

Denver, like all bases, will be junior. The only one I can maybe see being "Senior" is ORD since it will be experiencing the least amount of growth with all the United growth going to DEN and IAD, and the American growth going to STL (for now). I hope that helps, and it is based on straight information from what is happening today.

I'm not saying this, because I work here..I'll get blasted anyway… but I would jump on it if it were me. I seriously think the guys that are sitting and waiting to see it actually work are going to kick themselves when they realize they missed the boat and screwed themselves. It goes the same for the people, myself included, that were kind of waiting on Compass and then missed the meaty portion of the hiring.

I'm not even remotely concerned about the "Demise" of the 50 seater. 6 years ago, it was getting phased out too and they were going to be dead. Now we are signing contracts to keep them on for AT LEAST another 5 years. Whatever they are doing over here, as far as flying them profitably, is working. They wouldn't be doing it if they weren't making money.

It won't affect you at all!
Where have you even seen this happen? Has ANYONE come on here and said they were, in your words, "duped" by our recruiting department? Has ANYONE been on here that said they were recruited and showed up to training as a CQFO only to be told they weren't going to be?

This is what is ****ing TSA guys off. You aren't stating facts. You aren't stating anything. You are blatantly coming on here and lying about what is going on. The MODS seriously need to step in on this, because it is getting out of control. If you wan't to post garbage that's great, but support it with some facts not a babbling, rant full of junk.

My "crusade" is to try and help out the unassuming CFI before you manage to deluge all these lies into them. I don't believe that TSA is even in the top 5 best places for a new hire to go. It will take a new hit FO 2-3 years to upgrade, not 1.5. Maybe a few in the beginning will get that, but not most. With 2-3 years, that only leaves a few years before you start bleeding airplanes again, as has been the rinse and repeat cycle for you guys for a long long time.

Oh and I am pushing the Kiddy Kiddo thing today because several of your fellow liars have decided it is fine to throw potshots at me with "old man" as the centric point. Tit for tat .... Little man
Because you "believe" it is a lie, doesn't mean it is a lie. Just because you say it over and over and over and over and over and over again, doesn't make it true. You do get that right? 3 years for a 1500 CFI here is dead wrong. You don't work here. You don't see the staffing. You don't see who/what is in class. I could MAYBE see 2 years if you include 3 - 4 months of training, but the fact is a motivated CFI, with our staffing levels will easily be able to have the time to upgrade in 1.5 - 2 years. I know this, because I'm about to do it. It can be done, it has been done.

How many times can you say kiddo? At least switch it up a bit. Honestly, rip on our age all you want, I'll take it as a compliment. The things that I've done already, at my age, should be noticed God forbid, some of us made a smart career decision(so far). Surely, we must tear them down, and **** on their parade. I'm sorry I'm not sorry, I was ripped on and laughed at for coming here, because TSA is dog sh!t they said. Now the same guys are calling me to leave their respective airline to come here.

You know how many grievances I've filed? How many times I've had the Chief Pilot call to chew my a**, because we made a mistake? How many times my pay check came back incorrectly? How many times my pay check bounced? How many times I was forced to fly in violation of the contract? How many times I was junior manned? How many times I was scared to call our Chief Pilot to ask a question? How many times I had to miss a family emergency because we didn't have coverage?

……….ZERO! NONE,NADDA. You can rip on this place all you want, but that goes to show you right there, old man, that this place has turned around drastically from what it used to be. Management has been working with the pilots to improve this place. If you don't think so, talk to a crusty old Captain here that has been through the sh!t this place has been through. I have not had ONE tell me that this place hasn't done a total 180. So take your "kiddo" jump seater story and stick it where the sun don't shine, because I don't buy it. Every place has their people that will b!tch no matter what happens, but I guarantee you if you talked to every pilot in this pilot group that the overwhelming majority would share the same view.

The bad thing about the Hogans test is it has knocked out a lot of good guys, but let some people with underlying issues get in. Timma will probably be your FO for life because of the Hogan test. ( and for the record no I did not take of fail the Hogan. My bingo ball is still waiting to be called.)

You want Durango, that is the best overnight in the UAX system out of Den in Col.

Can you tell me about the time you claim to be an airline pilot grandpa? I love hearing your stories.

If any current TSA pilots have any thoughts or insights concerning my previous stated question they would be much appreciated. I hope you can forgive my grammatical shortcomings. I'm getting my AirlineApps membership renewed, and will be applying shortly. Some insider info would be very helpful. Thanks in advance!
I can't get answers to my simple questions and I've been a TS pilot for a while. You won't get a reasonable response unless you post something they can all fight about.

It was more than 140 characters. Most people give up reading after that. Too much info.

Hey folks, know this question has been asked before but this thread is 720 pages long. What is the most junior base for TSA?

I have an upcoming interview and live in BUF. Is it worth the commute to ORD or IAD if I could hold it?

What are your thoughts on the company?

Thanks for all the help, it is much appreciated!
