They need the CQFOs online as soon as possible to cover the initial flying and the FOs that have the time going to upgrade. They also need the CQFOs to get off green/high minimums as soon as possible so they aren't limiting their options for crew pairings due to green on green or bad weather. When growing as much as Trans States is, you will easily run into problems with green on green issues with so many new pilots coming online in a short period of time. CQFOs can also allow the company to cover the same amount of flights with fewer reserves because they can sit in both seats.

Just heard they are having a Jan. 14th class start? Is it full and does anyone know what the breakdown (CQFO/FO) will be?

XJT isn't losing all 145s in 2 years. By that logic, TSA would lose half of theirs in a few years too. All Regionals would be a year from furlough. United isn't going to park 260 RJs in two years
