Has anyone recently returned to TSA after having left? When I was there several years ago, we had guys return from operators that had closed. If anyone knows of someone that had returned, were they required to re-interview or just fill out an application and given a class date. I see the interview process has changed slightly since I was there, but did not know since they were in full hiring mode if they would take shortcuts for guys/gals that has worked there successfully in the past. Thank you in advance.

I think we would really like ex TSA guys as our CQFOs as long as they left on good terms.

Interviewed today and got the job for CQFO. They said today that those of us hired over the next month or two will be able to bid captain easliy by fall at worst end of year. Hope some you guys are being proactive instead waiting and being reactive. This is a fantastic opportunity that I'm suprised a lot of stagnant regional FOs aren't jumping at. An actual chance to get some PIC and move up and out to better things which they expect you to do. Also stated that top 15% of seniority will be retiring and moving on over next 5 years. So there is attrition coming. I know it's hard for a lot of pilots to be positive but I believe this will be one for a few years for sure.

CQFO program is interesting. The qualifications say 1000 hours 121 or combination of 121 or 135. But it also says case by case basis. Does anyone know if they would accept all 135 time? I'm a Captain on a Citation 560 and have been flying turbine PIC 135 for over 9 years. 7000 hrs total time. Ive been looking for an opportunity to transition to 121 but can't do the standard pay and time-line for regionals. Think I would be a good fit for the CQFO program?

1000hrs TPIC any combination of 121,135 and 91, qualifies you according to the far's but TSA reviews your time on a case by case basis. For example, 1500 tpic single engine will not get you in their CQFO program.

Ok, the single engine part is correct. The FAA only counts 135 TPIC towards the 1000 121 turbine requirement to be a 121 Captain or 500 military turbine can be credited towards it also. The company cannot accept 135, 91 SIC turbine time as the FAA does not accept it.

I think it would also depend on what kind of of 135 flying you've been doing. While I'm sure you'd have no problem flying the airplane, I don't know that the best place to figure out 121 flying is in the left seat with new FO.

Here is the FAR PT 135 rule for what counts towards the time requirement.
(a) No certificate holder may use a person, nor may any person serve, as pilot in command in passenger-carrying operations—
(1) Of a turbojet airplane, of an airplane having a passenger-seat configuration, excluding each crewmember seat, of 10 seats or more, or of a multiengine airplane in a commuter operation as defined in part 119 of this chapter, unless that person holds an airline transport pilot certificate with appropriate category and class ratings and, if required, an appropriate type rating for that airplane.
