Interviewed today and got the job for CQFO. They said today that those of us hired over the next month or two will be able to bid captain easliy by fall at worst end of year. Hope some you guys are being proactive instead waiting and being reactive. This is a fantastic opportunity that I'm suprised a lot of stagnant regional FOs aren't jumping at. An actual chance to get some PIC and move up and out to better things which they expect you to do. Also stated that top 15% of seniority will be retiring and moving on over next 5 years. So there is attrition coming. I know it's hard for a lot of pilots to be positive but I believe this will be one for a few years for sure.

Plus, if you have an interview or had one is there something the company didn't answer? I know when Anthony is in the interviews he has the contract on him and shows it to people in the interviews that are interested.

Seriously though, is there something in particular you have a question about?
They have answered everything we asked. Anyway, I would like to see the black and white language to see any possible loopholes with cqfos. I am not saying there are any. this is going to be my second regional. this time I am trying to be well informed.

like what? What more do you want as a new hire? Even if you just sit FO it is still at enhanced pay, more than what you make now I'm guessing.

Well, honestly you will be CQFO for like maybe 6-9 months at most. You will never get paid less than blended rate. I mean I know and can understand the hesitation as this seems too good to be true, but our company has no intentions on screwing anyone over. We are getting a ton of airplanes and need experienced pilots to captain them.

I wish I could get you a copy of the contract, but I just don't have in on a file that I could send anyone.

Anyone see the standing bid that just came out? There are like around 30 FOs that have a bid in for Captain.

Man, our upgrade is gonna be less than 6 months. Holy crap this is gonna get crazy.

January is filling up, the Jan 5th class is full, I've requested to be put in that one if any positions open up. Otherwise I will be in January 14th class. They basically have two classes a month running all year long usually one starting in the first week and the next during end of second or beginning of third week. Yesterday's interview's had 4 CQFO candidates and 2 FO interviewes one dude was CFI other had plenty of 121 was just about 500 hours short of the CQFO. They are interviewing 5 days a week.

With that, you won't hold a full CA spot at the end of February. Feel free to correct me when youre a captain on March 1. Look at the standing bids. There are enough guys to fill a few months of upgrades at 8/month. Whether they will even run a class of 15 upgrades before the brunt of the airplanes show up still remains to be seen.

It's also common to TDY crews when starting a base like Denver. They aren't going to have airplanes for 35 crews on March 1. Will the base open? Sure. But it's not going to be even close to running at half steam for what it's expected to be eventually.
absolutely nothing in my post is incorrect.

I did leave out details of the DEN base because it's obvious it will go senior initially and then go fairly junior. Yes they will TDY pilots out there (that's direct from the chief pilots mouth)

There are only 34 qualified FOs on property....the rest of the 150 FOs don't have the time....

they will upgrade those by spring...I won't be done with IOE till ends of Feb (based on any delayes)

THE WORST PART OF THE CQFO PROGRAM.

you get paid first year FO rate at 60/month till you're done with IOE ....that will deter some people

new hires FOs won't unless you had previous time.

a 1500 CFI hired today could upgrade in less than a year but won't due to the 121 time....so about 2 years (750 hrs per year)

as for the CQFO program...you definitely need us or things won't get staffed
