Really sorry if I missed it, but either I skipped over it on accident or it wasn't mentioned in the previous 10-15 pages.
Whats the seniority of the STL base? And how long for a new hire to be able to hold it?
Im assuming reserve time is going to be minimal as many of you have posted with the growth. What is the expected upgrade time to drop to? Im assuming with the CQFO program in place, management is expecting a very fast upgrade and for those of us with no 121 time or 135 PIC time it will be as soon as we hit that 1000 SIC. Is this safe to assume?
Thanks in advance and again I apologize if this has been posted recently.

Upgrades for people with the time will be under a year. These CQFOs hired now through probably February or march will hold captain either 6-8 months.
For someone looking to get the time, you can probably plan on 18 months once you hit the line since our TT mins are high. However, if they drop those mins, which I think we will have to do, a new hire CFI could see captain in 12-14 months. In that scenario the day you hit 1000 sic you will upgrade.
No matter where you go as a low time guy it's going to take you close to 2 years to get the time, so you might as well go to a place like TSA with massive movement. You will be a senior FO and a line holder very quickly. Get in now. They want as many people in class as possible.

So if seat captains are not allowed by the contract , and if they really needed captains this bad, why couldn't the company go to the union and ask for a LOA ? One that allows it and still protects the pilots already on the list ? Seems like an easy fix. Unless that already happened, so someone correct me I'm wrong. And what's to stop the company from lowering their upgrade mins once they get enough fo's so they can keep the CQFOs as FO 's for longer ? And is this CQFO thing part of the contract ? Is this is writing somewhere ? What's to keep them from cancelling it once they get these guys on the property if it's not ?
It's cheaper for the company to hire CQFO's than it is to drop the TT mins which is why this is plan a. Even if they drop the mins these guys will still hold captain quickly.

It's in the contract and they want the CQFO's to hold captain bc it is more expensive to put them back into the right seat to fly at the blended rate. The CQFO's will hold captain easily by mid to late 2015.

Because the union would never allow it, I'm guessing. Most of our current FO's are ****ed off that they are getting bypassed in the first place.

It also gives the company the added benefit of having guys that can fill both seats if, by some chance, we become short sided on FOs. If they hire straight street captains you don't have the ability to put them in the right seat if you have no FOs to cover flying for a month, etc. As said above, it's cheaper to have CQFOs (training costs the same, too) rather than paying the higher insurance rates that would come from dropping upgrade mins.

My buddy just interviewed this morning and he said it was a majority of people interviewing for CQFO position not regular FO. Also, I've never seen so much FO Reserve coverage as we do now especially in ORD.

Anybody got the word on the January upgrade notices? Thought maybe they would have been posted by now on Comply.
