Get the airplanes on property first, find pilots later. It works for everyone else, and it will work for TSA. We have a better contract than the other carriers experiencing mass movement, except for maybe Compass? It will also help us make contract improvements this spring, making it an even better option. Anyone getting on in even the next 4-5 months will see massive movement and progression.

You've been wrong on everything so far... I wouldn't expect that change. Tsa may be minimally staffed for the majority of it, but as PSA, Mesa, and Compass have proved pilots will flee for growth and upgrades. This will also add an additional base, I've been told DFW (could be wrong), but it gives this place multiple hub bases and improving QOL for people making the move. While it may seem noble, I sure wouldn't ride the Envoy ship all the way down.

Like another guy said it's just reshuffling the deck with some other regional guys, the issue is there are not enough new pilots coming in to the industry. As far as growth, Tsa hasn't had any real growth for nearly a decade while others have had plenty, including xjet. I guess it's finally our time, I'm happy for us.

Your opinion. PSA and Mesa are having no trouble staffing theirs when no one said they could. Wishing they couldn't and reality are two different things. I'd bet they have no problem at all staffing that flying.

I'm sorry. AA airplanes begin in April of 2015. United will begin in February of 2015. This requires about 28-30 crews per month staffing. Mostly they're going to be advertising CQFO status with an initial pay of 44 an hour with at least the first half of the new hires the chance to upgrade within a year. You don't think they'll be able to hire enough? I doubt it.

The first 200-300 guys hired will see upgrade within a year with the fly already announced if you have the mins. There's supposedly more that's coming. The fact the you can fly as a CQFO and make a blended rate while your waiting for the upgrade is just icing on the cake.
And working for Hulas is the "cherry on top"...

Look I get that you ExpressJet guys are all hacked off over this. Having been through a lot of this myself in this industry I have some sympathy for you. However to portray the opportunity at Trans States right now as less than very good for FOs that have languished in the right seat at other carriers for years is not being realistic. Guys with less than a year and a half of seniority have been upgrading like crazy here. With the numbers the company is looking at in terms of staffing and new aircraft there will be a significant opportunity for those that want to come here, particularly for the next 8-9 months.
If you think these planes are coming back if we can't staff them then you're not being realistic. Our contract is good enough that we will be able to attract enough pilots. This isn't Gojet......

Senior FO's at other airlines already make more than your $43 an hour blended rate.
