Not sure what you are trying to say or where you are trying to go with this. I wouldn't get excited for myself nor my friends because these planes will probably be parked or sent to China in a year regardless of any announcement.

As the cost to operate a 50-seater decreases due to the incredible amount of supply (since airline pilots love using the supply and demand theory), you're telling me that every legacy would rather fly a half full and more expensive 175 over a mostly full -200 or -145? Or fly with less frequency and possibly lose marketshare to a competitor just so they can get rid of every single 50-seater? While I do see 50-seat aircraft decreasing, they will absolutely not go away within the next 3-5 years, especially considering the backlog in orders at Embraer.

The reason is is because the real numbers have not been released. My inside source did say you are getting planes, but it is the planes that are being parked right now by ExpressJet ( he did say the number is anywhere from 30 to 66 and that the official number has not been released.) The other rumor was that some planes, not all our to replace your weight restricted planes ( who knows if this is true or not.) I am an ExpressJet pilot and this is disappointing news for us, but I personally don't hold any hard feelings towards TSA pilots. We are all just pawns in the game of the Regional industry.

This huge news at the expense of XJT pilots. The planes they are getting are the ones XJT is parking. Would not really say this is good new for the industry. Its basically Whipsaw at its finest!

Nobody said it was good news for the industry, although less RJs is a good thing. This is just a case of another mans trash(xjet) being another's treasure(tranny)
