Yes, as Cleveland has been a shrinking metropolitan area for decades now, it was known long ago that the Cleveland hub was going to disappear. It was in the works well before the United/Continental merger. Nothing to do with a pilot shortage. The city of Cleveland was told many years ago that Cleveland would have to "earn its hub status".

On the CRJ side. As of now, not the ERJ side.

Word to the wise: never choose an airline based on something as fickle as domiciles.

You would never, ever merge certificates with ERJs and 170s. Makes no sense whatsoever. Or maybe not?

From CEO Bryan Bedford:

"I met with the leadership team and announced that by the end of the year the Company intends to consolidate the ERJ flying activity currently operated on the Chautauqua airline operating certificate onto our Shuttle America airline operating certificate. Wayne met with the FAA this morning to review the same plan. We understand this decision will spark a great deal of emotion for some of you and appreciate the pride you take in being associated with each of our airline operating certificates. Although change can be difficult, I am confident this change will be a positive move for our airline."

Hmmmm.....maybe there is something to consolidating certificates to save money....

That doesn't involve merging a seniority list. Keep wishing.

But it does involve consolidating certificates to save money. Keep living in denial....

Question... If you want to fly the Ejet so bad why didn't you apply to Compass?

maybe he did and they haven't responded. Every time I ask a question here I'm told "try Compass" .. well, I have, but I can't help it if they don't call me for an interview.
I'm sure they'll call me the day after I start class somewhere else.
