I hear talks about birds from Mexico. But that was three months ago, but no memo yet.

I imagine we'll get 10-15 more planes over the next year. Just the scraps that nobody else wants to bid on.

Disappointed TSA didn't get them outright. But as I said earlier, I suspect TSA pilots will get a chance to fly these airplanes as the 145s go away. If you need to see what is in the future look at what is going on with Chautauqua. As the pilot "shortage" intensifies TSH will have to look at parking 145s to staff the larger aircraft. Going to be interesting to see how Compass staffs these aircraft. Sooner or later (probably sooner) Republic is going to come out with a new TA that will get approved, and Mesa will likely have to increase its incentives as well, plus whoever gets the rest of the AA 170s will be staffing them as well.

Had heard that half of these 170s would go to an airline with 170s on the certificate, half to an airline that did not. Will be interesting to see where the rest end up.

Will be interesting to see what gets announced for TSA. Still think we are looking at a minimum of 10 airplanes for somebody, most likely AA and maybe UA. I suspect this Compass announcement is just the first one, and there will likely be more over the coming days. Thought is was interesting that they moved Oxley's conference call from Thursday to Monday.

Glad to see them go to Compass if we don't get them. Would have been better if they had ended up at Envoy, but unfortunately that isn't in the cards.

What you mean "shortage"? How many numbers are you moving a month?

"if we don't get them"... You didn't get them, this was the "I told you so" that AAG is going to use to get Envoy back to the table.

I was at Comair when DAL made the decision to shut us down. Once the parent company announces that, it's pretty much an irreversible decision because of the issue of credibility--with investors, employees (all of them) and the public. Please do NOT fall for the mindset that AAG is trying bring Eagle/Envoy "back to the table."

At Comair, we voted down a concessionary contract in '07 that would have brought us E-170's and E-175's. Like Eagle, it would have been the second concessionary contract in a short time. We said no. The planes went to Republic, and the rest is history.

In this case, sending the panes to Compass is simple the most cost efficient thing to do.

Don't let that fool you. Eagle/Envoy is, at best, temporary. See: Comair, CCAir, etc. Talking to the MEC is also a way to get potential bidders to lower their prices.
