When I was a young tyke and TSA was desperate for Captains they had lowered the upgrade minimums to 1500 Hours TT, but I think that included a 500 Hour credit for time in company aircraft, so it was actually 2,000 hours w/o company time. If they get upgrade times that low, there's really no difference between a new hire and a street captain.
I don't know.

Yeah. I interviewed for the Sim Instructor job. K2 told me he really wanted me for a ground instructor instead. I said no, politely of course. But I wanted to teach sim, not ground. So I'll just sit and wait for an upgrade. I'm number 30 on the list to upgrade, just a matter of time.

Yes he would have....seems for now, they have slowed up on the upgrades, but still in full force hiring for fo's.

I saw a lovely hand written memo, saying no upgrades till around summer time. But I did see quite a bit of new fo coming to iad.
