Good morale over here. 9-10 month upgrades. Contract is well above average in the industry.

That's great!

Glad to see things have made a turn for the better.

FOs don't have the total time to upgrade. Maybe someone can chime in on how reserve life is.

You sit in a room for 10 hours. Reserve sucks, but we got a pretty good contract.

What's the story with new hire training at TSA? I've been reading some posts here that seem to hint at a "sub-par" training department. Is this true? and if so why? Is it pretty cut-throat or what?

I'm asking as a 1,500 CFI looking to make my first jump into the regionals

Subpar? People who claim they ask too much of you are lazy. The only issue was the absurd amount of memory items that will be significantly reduced with the next SOP revision. If you think TSAs training is to hard or too much, 121 might not be good idea. It's no different then studying when you're in college. Week nights study, weekends relax and take a break and you'll be fine. Most guys who got the pink slip had more than their fair shot to show they wee competent. Some weren't, some were lazy and some had horrible attitudes. If you aren't a douche and are a hardworker you can get through training. They are all the SAME.
