It is odd. Usually there is at least a rumor that turns out to have been true at one point that didn't work out. Right now, no rumors. If they think attrition is really going to hit that it bad could be very interesting...

Yeah as has been said previously, any kind of growth is usually associated with some kind of rumor. But I haven't heard anything. Not even the usual jokingly ridiculous rumors. I really just think this is part 117 / expected attrition related. We're already getting low numbers in the recruiting department. I think they're afraid if they stop hiring they won't get anybody when they want to resume.

I wouldn't hold your breath for OTS hires. Friend of mine is in training there now. Half of his class and of another class that is just finishing up training have the minimums to upgrade. Plus, he said there are quite a few that were hired a year ago that would have the time to upgrade in another 6 months or so.
