They couldn't supervise his schedule because they didn't know where he was, other than supposedly in stl boarding the DH. There's a difference between giving the curtesy of waiting for a late crew till boarding before calling scheduling, and getting on a DH knowing your scheduled crew isn't there. Again this capt happened to check who he was flying with.

I'm not blaming the captain. He definitely didn't have a sinister intent. I'm sure he thought maybe the guy was running late or something. All I'm saying is that I don't check. It's just more things to be worried about. If I get down to where ever I'm going and there's no crew - that's what cancellation pay is for. There's so many things to worry about in this job without having to worry about somebody else and their issues. Plus, if you're on reserve or they are, the guy could be coming from anywhere.

I can remember getting a phone call from a captain the day before my trip when I was still flying the line. This pilot was commuting in from somewhere or another and would land in STL about 20 minutes prior to our scheduled departure, then do the run from E-Concourse to C-Concourse (back when D was still open...years ago). I got the bird ready, and waited...and waited...and waited...Got the pax boarded up, and the plane ready to go, paperwork ready to be signed...Captain ran in sweating like crazy screaming how he'd "never try that commute again". For a probie FO, that was a bit unnerving, but it all worked out...never limo'd myself into position though through 3 years with the company.

Yep. 9 more upgrades in December. We're overstaffed and still upgrading and hiring. Just like last year before the 7 new aircraft were announced. Something must be going on, no other explanation for this.

A look at the standing bid shows 28 more guys that are qualified to upgrade. That's it. Gonna get really interesting here soon.
