Does anyone know why TSA and GoJet cancelled their appearance at the September 8th Chicago job fair?

I have no idea but i was supposed to have an interview with them on Aug 22 and that got cancelled. Haven't been able to get a response from them since. So something is going on....

Well based on the reduction in flying that is occurring in September (reduction in lines for both STL and IAD which would be expected) reserve lines are about 35-40% of the scheduled line. Even though that could easily be expected, I'm sure management was completely shocked and the F word is right around the corner unless they get more attrition the next two months. I thought I heard a class of 10-15 for september on top of the guys that will be coming on line soon. So we'll be looking at reserve lines of near 50% of the schedule (again unless attrition picks up). The company definitely won't put up with that for long. Maybe they're assuming massive attrition at the end of the year/early next year who knows? They could furlough for a few months and then try to recall but that backfired this year when hardly anyone accepted.

That's the problem with such a small operation. A swing from 5 too few pilots to 5 too many pilots is about 5% of the total staffing of this airline. It's too hard to precisely predict and inevitably the bottom 10-15% suffer the most as any pilot *cough* saluki can tell you.
