Fir such a small company, two years on reserve assumes about two or less people leaving a month for the next two years. That or people will leave and we'll keep losing planes.

Sorry fellas I should have introduced myself - especially given my low post count. I am a CFI with 1000/130 and instructing full time in Chicago. I did indeed mean I interviewed alongside several great folks who made the day a fun experience. However, two years on reserve...that QOL would be similar to diggin ditches. That two year quote was from DG himself, although he did not give a particular rationale for that comment. Is it the group consensus that I should be careful before jumping into the job just because it's not a C172? That's my gut feeling. I'd hate to get there and stay on reserve when I could be elsewhere flying a line - if I wait and get some more TT under my belt. Any thoughts are much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Have you interviewed or will at other places? We've been having a lot of junior guys here going to expressjet.

Obviously this was a phone conversation and I don't have it in writing...however, their interview experience was awesome and I'd certainly like to work there.
**Green pilot alert** Can I ask why the junior guys are going elsewhere? I'm going to look further into the thread in order to answer my own question.

I have an interview date with TSA on May 15th. 1700TT and 100 multi for anyone interested. The tech interview is consisting of an 8 page study guide on the E145 in icing conditions, max weights and airspeed limitations of a lot of icing equipment type stuff. Along with current multi flown and what not. 2 year reserve would suck and commuting from Chicago to there would suck. Personally, I'm holding out for my 2 recommendations from ExpressJet, and 1 captain from GoJet, and 1 from SkyWest. I was at the FltOps.com job fair in Vegas a couple weeks ago and they (TSA) were the only company that didn't seem to care too much on multi time, and I had 88 multi 2weeks ago. Guess we'll see what happens...

I actually was asked by Expressjet to fly 40 more hours TT and I would be given a class date.

As far as the 2 year thing... I spent 5 glorious years at TSA and I was on reserve the day I left (not as a captain)... 2 years is a bit optimistic in my opinion.
Why are the junior guys leaving? Reference the sentence above.
