I do find it interesting they want to run a new hire class on April 16th considering my recall letter says I would return on April 12th and I'm one of the more senior furloughed guys.

So is there any need to send RZ a "thanks but no thanks" letter or are we better off just keeping our mouths shut?

I cant believe they are actually PLANNING for a new hire class...i mean this is even before they've even heard from the furloughed guys and gals. I dont drink koolaid, but i do smell something cooking.
Or it could be that they got PRIA requests for every single furloughed pilot...and thought oh $hit!

I interviewed last April (2011) and got the letter asking if I wanted to join the April 16th class.

Not to rain on anyone's parade but you have to be joking if you're thinking of actual grow at this place. ATRs? not happening. All this is is people bailing off the titanic and the company was somewhat surprised at the number. That and people aren't coming back. Furloughed twice and they've had though of it. Well good for them. 16 hard lines for 43 crews should tip you off. They are just as likely to furlough tomorrow as they are to hire.
PS even if the company THINKS they are going to get flying, that doesn't mean anything. 4 times in the past 5 years they've thought something similar and been mistaken. Not exactly a good track record.
