I dabble in comedy when I can. But alas, I might have fibbed... 'cause there's a good chance you don't have a girlfriend as a regional FO.
Speaking of, what do you call a regional first officer without a girlfriend?

I was in recurrent last week, and let's just say that FO did not paint a pretty picture for our imediate future. Seems like the common attitude in the schoolhouse is the MRJ is going to save us someday, until then......
I think the first words uttered after lunch were "Easy Victor"

Amazing. United doesn't even want to maintain the status quo while pulling 135's for expressjet (not harping on expressjet guys at all). I don't know which is more disturbing - the inability of TSA to get even 10-20 airplanes or the fact that maybe the company just isn't trying at all anymore. The place is going down and the company line is "guys keep that morale up... we're getting MRJ's in 2016!" So what happens between 2013 and 2016 FO? The MRJ's probably won't come out on time (if at all), are subject to "finding a code share partner" (which they probably won't), and are a bigger plane than I want to see at a regional (which doesn't matter). I understand people can leave if they want. But it is somewhat disheartening to have put so many years into a place only to have them kick you to the curb without a second thought. Pilots have been here a long time are considered inconveniences because of their longevity. Rant over.
PS - Keep that morale up!
