I'm gonna go out on a limb here. I have, for some reason unknown to me, a weird feeling that this furlough never happens. I have a feeling no one leaves property. Of course, the last time I had this weird feeling, it turned out to be food poisoning from the old DAY hotel bar but I think something is going to happen. My money says that within the next 20 days we get additional flying and no one is furloughed. If I'm wrong...sue me.
I wish I could be more optimistic like you, but as the saying goes "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me." I'm not saying they are not going to get more down the road, but what would anyone's incentive be to come back here to be an FO for another year before probably getting furloughed again?

Just got the "your voluntary furlough request has been granted" email. Not sure if that changes your thought process...

I'm not optimistic. I'm realistic. Keep in mind, while I'm not very smart, I have been around here for a while now too so I know how bad rumors are true and good rumors are false. I think I am kind of thinking like AviHater that these furloughs are a negotiating token or something like that. As far as incentive to stick around...MRJ's...DUH! I don't know...I just think its weird that they said these furloughs have been a long time coming and they held off as long as possible BUT just 2 weeks ago they announced 2 new hire classes of FA's. So who knows...I'll show up til they tell me otherwise.
Maybe they'll cancel this furlough and say hey...Merry Christmas, remember that recall fakeout in 2009? How bout we call it even now?

I was mainly busting your chops, we have both been here long enough to see this place for what it is and how they operate.
As for the MRJ, not sure if serious. I don't want to see those things flown by the regionals, especially not this one. They would be my last reason for staying put here.
You could be completely right about these furloughs being a negotiating tactic, but I am going with the history lesson here. Fire til you hire and hire til you fire. Without something concrete in the works, I think we are going to get another unpaid vacation for an unspecified amount of time.

Haha definitely not srs about the mrjs. But it made me laugh. Idk whats gonna happen...there's just a lot here that doesn't add up.

I'm with Herbie on this one. We are going on an unpaid vacation for a while. The number of lines are way down and with no flying on the horizon, there's no reason to stay fat.
